Advertising Excellence: VW’s social marketing crash

Lately we’ve seen a rise in Social Marketing campaigns maximising the potential of dedicated Youtube channels. Targeting young females, Volkswagen in collaboration with popular Youtube tutorial make-up artist, Nikkie, developed the behavioural change campaign “Please don’t make-up and drive”.

To effectively connect with their desired market, VW gained access to Nikkie’s 180,000+ subscribers and leveraged the 25 million+ views her videos receive.

The campaign is a great insight into how we can take specific messages to our audience through new digital and social media streams.
